How to Make EMF Graphite Paint

Graphite paint is paint with graphite particles mixed in it, designed for use with electromotive force (EMF) volts and circuits. EMF is the voltage required to move a volt from one place to another. Graphite paint can accomplish this task without much difficulty, but it may not work for all circuits, simply because graphite powder may be too coarse to connect all voltages. However, it should work for building most hobby circuits at home and for smaller circuitry connections.

Things You'll Need

  • Latex paint
  • Fine graphite powder
  • Small paintbrush
  • Circuit board
  • Small circuits

Instructions

    • 1

Add graphite powder to 1 cup of paint to perform a conductivity test. Add as much powder to the paint as possible without the mixture turning clumpy. Typically, the mixture starts to turn clumpy at the 1-to-1 ratio.

    • 2

Paint the mixture onto a circuit board. Make sure the paint line is even without any lumps or breaks in the painted line. Use a small paintbrush for precise lines. Allow the paint to dry.

    • 3

Test the paint for conductivity. If the paint has a strong current, try mixing graphite powder into paint using a slightly lower concentration of graphite powder. Continue adjusting the ratios until you have the desired circuitry strength.
