How to Install a Yankee Hill Machine Rail

The U.S. military standard-issue assault rifle is the AR-15, also known as the M16 assault rifle. This is a selective-fire weapon that is designed to accommodate multiple add-ons and attachments. The Yankee Hill extension rail is one such add-on that attaches above the barrel of the weapon and allows you to mount extra components, such as sights. Because these weapons are designed for combat, the extensions are made to be added or removed quickly.

  Press the "magazine release" button located above where the magazine connects to the AR-15 and slide the magazine out of the weapon.

  Pull the chamber bolt, located at the side of the AR-15, back to ensure that there are no rounds in the chamber.

  Locate the mount on top of the gun barrel.
- 4
  Remove the bolts from the rail and fit the rail over the mount.
- 5
  Align the rail and mount so that the holes for the bolts are flush.
- 6
  Slide the bolts into the holes and use your screwdriver to tighten them and secure the rail.
