Find a USPA certified school near you. Ensure that the organization does not simply offer skydive training or paid jumps, but actually offers a license.
Take a class in skydiving. Even if you only want to try skydiving, you'll need to attend a day of classes where you will learn basic skydiving skills and procedures.
Go skydiving for the first time. Your first skydive will likely be a tandem jump with an instructor strapped to you with a harness. The instructor will perform all the necessary safety procedures, allowing you to enjoy the jump.
Complete 25 jumps. To get your skydiving license and perform solo jumps, you must start making training jumps. These are jumps that count toward your license. You can either perform another tandem jump, this time pulling the cord yourself, or take a jump wearing an individual harness with two instructors jumping with you and opening your parachute.
Apply for your license. Once you have accomplished 25 training jumps, you'll be able to submit the necessary paperwork through your school and obtain your skydiving license, allowing you to perform solo, unsupervised jumps.
