Things You'll Need
Instructions
Disassemble your RC vehicle so only the body remains. If you have purchased just the body of an RC vehicle then skip this step.
Clean the body of the vehicle and dry it thoroughly. Place it over newspaper on a sturdy work surface. If the body of the vehicle is clear, turn it upside down as you will paint the inside of the body. If the vehicle body isn't clear, you can paint the exterior of the body.
Put the included window masks over the windows so you don't paint over them. You can also use masking tape if you don't have the window masks.
Sketch a paint design of your choosing and draw it on the vehicle with a black magic marker. There is no need to worry, you can wash the marker off later.
Attach the top of your can of paint to the valve on the bottom of the airbrush and turn the compressor at the rear of the unit on. The airbrush is ready to go.
Put on your safety mask and spray the area of the vehicle where you would like that particular color. Make sure it is a single light coat.
Let the paint dry and apply another light coat in the same area. Repeat this step four to six times or until the desired richness is achieved.
Remove the paint from the airbrush and replace it with another color. Spray the areas you would like to coat with this color. You can repeat this process with many colors in many different areas of the vehicle's body. This can help you fill in designs.
Apply a layer of Faskoat protective coating after the paint job has dried. Allow this to dry.
Dab a cloth with rubbing alcohol and wipe the body of the vehicle free of the magic marker residue.
