How to Make a Walkman Playlist

A Walkman playlist is relatively easy to create, but recording your songs in order can take some time. Technology has led to the creation of easily navigable audio devices, but for those who enjoy the rustic use of a Walkman, creating a playlist and then recording it can make the process of listening to the songs you want in order comparable to the ease of a more modern sound device.

Stereo with "Record" option

  Write down or type the songs you want included on your Walkman playlist. Insert a blank tape into a stereo with a "Record" option.

  Insert a tape, if your stereo has two tape slots, or CD on which you have a song you want recorded. Stop the tape when it reaches the song you want to record.

  Press "Play" on the tape with the song you are recording or press "Play" on the CD. Slide the setting to CD if you are playing the CD. At the same time, press "Play" and "Record" above the slot where the blank tape is inserted.

  Press "Stop" on the blank tape when the song is over. Find the next song on the playlist, and then press "Play" while holding the "Play" and "Record" button on the tape deck.
