Things You'll Need
Instructions
Use a wet cloth to thoroughly clean debris or dirt from the area around the tear. Even the slightest bit of dirt could interact with the materials used during the repair process and jeopardize it.
Use a pair of scissors to trim away any frayed edges around the tear, so you are left with a clean tear between two smooth edges of nylon webbing.
Spray a thin layer of contact cement onto each side of the nylon webbing beside the tear. Next, overlap the two sides and press them firmly together to allow them to bond. If there is not enough material to stretch across, then see Step 4.
Use scissors to cut a spare piece of nylon webbing, roughly the same size as the gap, and firmly press it against the contact cement, allowing it to bond and fill the tear.
Increase the security of the repair by using a sewing needle and thick thread to sew the glued repair in place. This, in addition to the contact cement, should ensure the integrity of either the two sides held together or the spare patch.
