Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut two lacing strands of your choice to a length that is four times the length that you want your finished key chain to be. If you want the key chain to measure 2 inches long, cut the strands at 8 inches.
Insert the two strands through your key chain ring. Bend the strands in half over the ring.
Hold the ring in one hand. Spread out the strands over your fist with the other hand. It looks like you are holding four strands, but really you still have two strands that are bent to appear as four.
Grab the strand that is hanging outside of your thumb with your other hand. Place it over the strand nearest your wrist.
Take the strand that is nearest your wrist and place it over the strand that is hanging over your thumb.
Grab the strand that is hanging over your thumb and place it over the strand that hands over your forefinger.
Grab the strand that hangs over your forefinger and slip it under the very first strand that you moved. This first strand originally hung to the outside of your thumb and now hangs over the second strand you moved, at the base of your thumb. This last move means you have moved all four strands in a counterclockwise motion.
Let go of the ring piece carefully as you pull the strands together. The loops you made form a knight against the key ring. Grip the ring again, place the strands just as they were before, and repeat the counterclockwise motion of laying strands over each other. Continue this process until you run out of strand to chain together. Finish the last ends of the strands by knotting them together. Add keys to your key ring.
