How to Clean a Fish Tank With the Pipeline

A pipeline fish tank uses a pipe to connect two sections of a fish tank. This makes for an interesting aesthetic appearance, as the fish swim between the two tanks via the pipeline. The process for cleaning a pipeline fish tank mirrors that of cleaning a regular fish tank. You simply need to account for the pipeline while cleaning.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the fish from your tank. Place them in a small bowl containing water, during the cleaning operation. Cover the lid of the bowl, to prevent the fish from getting out.

    • 2

Turn off and remove your filter. Remove the water from your fish tank, using a bucket. Alternatively, carry the fish tank over toward a drain, and drain the water directly out of the tank.

    • 3

Use a gravel vacuum to clean the gravel at the bottom of your tank.

    • 4

Use a brush to scrub any algae or other debris off the sides of the tank. Then use the brush on the pipeline. If you can̵7;t readily access it, remove the top portion of the pipeline, and then scrub the pipeline. Put the piece back into position once you finish.

    • 5

Replace the water. Place the fish back in the bowl, and turn the filter back on.
