How to Fit Mini Golf Putters

Though mini golf and real golf are almost completely different games, the basics of fitting the proper putter to each player are still the same. The two main aspects to consider are height and strength, since the proper putting stroke can really only be made if the putter matches findings in these two categories. A proper putting stroke should be comfortable. If you're straining at any time, you should switch to a different putter.

Instructions

  1. Fitting a Putter to Your Height

    • 1

Position your feet so the ball is in the middle of your stance. You should be standing about a foot away from the ball, on the left side if you are right-handed and the right side if you're a lefty.

    • 2

Bend forward at the waist so your eyes are directly over the ball and slightly bend your knees.

    • 3

Allow your arms to dangle freely in front of you. The appropriate putter should be no more that a couple inches more than the distance from your hands to the ball when you're in this formation.

Fitting A Putter To Your Strength

    • 4

Hold your putter, while standing in the proper putting stance, addressing an imaginary ball.

    • 5

Take the putter back slowly and push it forward at an even speed. Follow through as much as your back stroke and keep an even tempo through out. The correctly weighted putter should not falter off of a straight line at any time and should be completely under control.

    • 6

Switch to a less weighted putter if you find it difficult to keep on a straight line and a more weighted putter if you find it difficult to keep at an even tempo.
