Instructions
Measure the diameter of the opening for two glass flasks with a ruler. Find a rubber stopper that will fit both of the flasks.
Drill a 1/4-inch hole into the center of the rubber stoppers by using the power drill.
Insert one end of a 1/2-inch copper tube into the hole in one of the rubber stoppers. Push on the tube so 1 inch extends beyond the stopper. Insert the other end of the copper tube into the second stopper.
Fill 3/4 of one flask with water. Press the rubber stopper into the opening. Run the copper tubing to the other flask. Insert the second rubber stopper into the opening.
Apply heat to the flask containing the water. Continue to apply heat until the water comes to a boil. You will then begin to see steam flow up to the copper pipe. Water will then start to drip down into the other flask.
