Things You'll Need
Instructions
Use a razor knife to cut the fiberglass mat into the shape of the hole or surface that you will be filling. If the hole is deep, it will require multiple layers of fiberglass mat, bonded together with epoxy resin -- so cut numerous pieces.
Clean the area that you will be applying the fiberglass to using a cloth and warm water. Any dirt or debris could obstruct the process.
Mix together an epoxy resin mix, which you can buy from most hardware stores. Use a putty knife to spread the mix evenly around the hole. Create as close to a flat surface as possible.
Place the fiberglass mat onto the resin mix; lay it flat to avoid any bubbles. Place another coat of the resin mix on top of the fiberglass mat. Repeat this step until the layering has succeeded in filling the hole. Allow the work to dry for at least an hour.
Use a power sander to sand the surface to a flat, even repair job. You can use fine-grit sandpaper to perfect the surface afterward.
