Things You'll Need
Instructions
Measure the length of the wall. Cut a piece of 1-inch by 4-inch lumber equal to the length of the wall. Place "L" shaped shelving brackets on the bottom of the lumber. Use a stud finder to locate where the studs are inside the wall.
Draw a level line across the length of the wall using a level. Secure the "L" brackets to the wall using 2 inch to 2 1/2 inch mounting screws and a screwdriver. These brackets need to be level across the wall so that the lumber will be level.
Set the lumber on top of the "L" brackets and begin securing the lumber to the brackets. Use 1/4 inch to 1/2-inch screws to prevent the screws from going completely through the lumber.
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for each wall until you have a level working area around the room. Secure each track to the lumber using one small flat-head screw. This will help hold the track in place.
