How to Make a Trick Clown Tie

Clowns not only look funny but their clothes can also do silly things. Make a water-shooting trick tie that will spray an unsuspecting person with water. Supplies from a home and garden shop will be needed, as will items found around the house. The tie can be bought from a child̵7;s section at a department store.

Things You'll Need

Clip-on boy's tie
Turkey baster
Utility knife
Plastic tube, 10 inches long, 1/8th inch diameter
Bonding glue
Silicone sealant paste
Water glass
Masking tape
Tie-dye T-shirt

Instructions

  Place the tie vertically on a table with the clip-on tabs farthest from you. Turn the tie over. Pull the rubber bulb off the top of the turkey baster.

  Insert an end of the plastic tube into the hole of the rubber bulb. Run a line of bonding glue around the tube where it meets the hole. Let the glue set overnight. Repeat this procedure, only with silicone sealant paste.

  Place a glass of water on the work surface. Squeeze the bulb. Place the free end of the tube into the glass. Release the bulb to fill it with water. Remove the tube. Dry the tube with a paper towel.

  Cut a hole through the tie at around the halfway point between the two and bottom with the utility knife. Push the end of the hose into the hole. Tape the hose to the tie with strips of masking tape.

  Put on the tie-dye T-shirt that will be your clown shirt. Push the tabs at the top of the tie open. Place the tabs against the top of the T-shirt. Close the tabs so the tie stays on.

  Run the tube down the inside of the shirt and out at the bottom. Conceal the bulb in your hand. Go up to a person and ask him if he likes your tie. Squeeze the bulb to shoot water from the tie at the person as soon as he gets close enough.
