Instructions

    • 1

Determine the height that you want for the lamp, such as 2 1/2 inches. Measure the round pine stock to this length with the tape measure and cut it with the miter saw.

    • 2

Apply the wood glue to the bottom of the round pine stock. Set the cut piece of round pine stock in the center of the 5-inch square pine board. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 3

Drill a 1/2-inch hole in the center of the 5-inch square pine board with the power drill.

    • 4

Insert the electrical cord from the lamp wiring kit into the 1/2-inch hole. Run the cord through the pine stock.

    • 5

Strip 1/2 an inch of insulation from the electrical wires inside the cord with the wire strippers. Remove the cover for the socket. Attach the wires to the screw terminals on the socket with the screwdriver. Set the cover for the socket back in place.

    • 6

Place the socket on top of the pine stock. Slide a ring clamp over the socket and secure it onto the pine stock by tightening the screw.

    • 7

Secure the hole saw attachment to chuck of the power drill. Drill a 1-inch hole into the center of the bar stool seat.

    • 8

Run the power cord through the hole and set the lamp base on the seat. Drill pilot holes in the wood and secure the lamp base to be bar stool with screws.

    • 9

Attach a light bulb to the socket and the plug in the electrical cord to test the lamp. Place the globe over the top of the base.
