How to Make a Doll's Hair Shine

After years of sitting stale in a closet or after stains from playing, a doll's hair often needs some sprucing up. Regular washing can go a long way, but it doesn't generate the shine that your doll had when you made the purchase. A few handy tricks will not only get the shine back into your doll's hair, it will also keep it protected from further damage, keeping it shiny for years.

Instructions

    • 1

Wet your doll's hair with water. Rub it with shampoo and then rinse. Rub it with conditioner and then rinse. Allow the hair to completely dry.

    • 2

Place the doll in a plastic bag with only her head exposed. Cover the face with a towel.

    • 3

Apply several sprays of the paint protector on the doll's hair from about 2 feet back. Brush the doll's hair.

    • 4

Apply window cleaner or a doll and wig cleaner as an alternative to the paint protector. The wig cleaner requires you to wet the hair before applying the cleaner. Spray on a child detangler and then let it dry. Brush the hair.

    • 5

Style your doll's hair into whatever fashion you want. A doll's hairstyle is only limited by its length.
