Instructions
Set up the backdrop for your stop motion animation film and plan out the range of movement for the animation.
Put the camera on a tripod and position it so that the field of the movement is covered by the camera.
Secure a piece of masking tape beneath each tripod leg so that you can reposition the tripod precisely if you need to remove the camera during filming.
Place the camera atop a small, heavy object such as a soda can filled with sand or the bottom of a ceramic coffee mug if you don't have a tripod. Tape the camera securely into position on the object, and place tape on the table surface beneath the object so you can reposition it precisely if you need to move the camera during filming.
Use a remote control to take pictures or video. This will help prevent slight movement from shaking the camera. If you do not have a remote control, hold the camera steady with one hand and take the picture or video with the other.
