Things You'll Need
Instructions
Draw a 7-inch-diameter circle on your pattern sheet using a protractor or compass needle as a guide. Cut out the circle with scissors.
Measure and cut your pattern for the inner part of the purse that features the drawstring. Measure a rectangle 14 inches by 21 inches with a ruler, then cut out this pattern. Measure a 2-inch seam boundary on either side of the rectangle. Draw a 1/- inch seam boundary on the bottom of the rectangle. From this seam boundary, measure 7 inches up the rectangle. Mark a horizontal line along the length of the rectangle.
Measure and cut the final rectangular piece for the purse. Measure a rectangle 7 1/2 inches by 41 inches, and cut it out. Lay the rectangle in front of you so the long axis extends from left to right. Measure a 1/2-inch seam boundary on both sides. Measure every 4 inches, and draw a vertical line to show where you'll put the dauber holders.
Cut your fabric using the patterns you just made. You now have three pieces of fabric, one circle and two rectangles.
Transfer the measurements you made on the patterns to the fabric pieces you just cut out.
Place the two rectangular pieces in front of you. Place the rectangular fabric that features the vertical lines recurring every 2 inches below the rectangular fabric with the vertical lines recurring every 4 inches. Sew the lines of the top fabric to the corresponding lines of the bottom fabric with a sewing machine. This step divides the top fabric into holders.
Press the bottom of each holder down to the fabric underneath the top fabric, and sew the holders into place. This step seals the bottom of each dauber holder.
Lay the edges of the fabric together, sewing over the seam allowance boundary. This step connects the opposite edges of the fabric together to create a cylindrical shape.
Sew the circular bottom fabric to the bottom of the cylinder of fabric you've made so far. Fold over the seam edge, and double stitch to create an especially strong connection.
Repeat the previous steps to create two more rectangles. Do not include the recurring vertical lines for these rectangles. Sew them together. Fold the top seam, and sew it down. Fold the seam again and sew it down, creating a loop through which you can pull a string. Attach one end of your string to a hook needle, and pull the hook through the loop of the fabric, inserting the drawstring through the fabric. Sew the two edges of the fabric together to create a cylinder in the same way you did with the earlier rectangles.
Insert the drawstring cylinder inside the outer cylinder with the holders, and sew them to the circular bottom. Place your bingo supplies inside the inner drawstring bag and your daubers in the dauber holders of your bingo purse.
