Instructions
Cut off the ends of two lanyard cords with a scissors. Dispose of the ends in the trash. Hold one of the lanyard lengths vertically. Wind the end of the other lanyard length around the one being held from the bottom up. Stop winding the length of lanyard when it reaches the top. Tie a knot in both ends. Repeat this procedure to make an identical length of lanyard.
Place both of the lanyard lengths on a table with 6 inches separating them.
Cut the ends off two more lanyards with the scissors. Line up two lanyard lengths together. Tie a knot in both ends. Repeat this procedure with the other two lanyard lengths
Place an end of one of the lanyard lengths just made against the top of the lanyard length lying on the table to your left, at a 90-degree angle pointing down. Place an end of the other lanyard length just made against the top of the lanyard length lying on the table to your right, at a 90-degree angle pointing down. Tape the ends of each pair with strips of cellophane tape.
Tape an end of one of the pairs of lanyard to the eraser end of the pencil with a strip of cellophane tape. Wind the lanyard along the length of the pencil until you reach the pointed end. Place a strip of cellophane tape on the lanyard length where it meets the point.
Tape an end of the other pair of lanyards to the pointed end of the pencil with a strip of cellophane tape. Wind the lanyard along the length of the pencil until you reach the eraser end. Place a strip of cellophane tape on the lanyard length where it meets the eraser.
Hold the pencil by the eraser end. Twirl the pencil as you pull the point away from you. Continue to do this until the pencil comes free and leaves you with a weaved tube of lanyard. Place a finger inside each end of the tube to become trapped in the Chinese finger cuffs.
