Things You'll Need
Instructions
Inspect and clean the area of the hull where the bulkhead are attached. Remove any wood splinters or other debris remaining from a previous bulkhead installation. Clean any dirt and dust away with a vacuum that might prevent the firm attachment of the bulkhead to the hull.
Drill holes around the perimeter of the bulkhead. The holes should be placed every four to six inches and should not go completely through the bulkhead. After drilling the holes, insert a screw with fender washer in each hole. However, don't tighten the screws until after the epoxy is applied.
Mix the epoxy according to the instructions provided and then quickly apply it to the space between the hull and actual bulkhead. Ensure that the epoxy is evenly applied with a brush or putty knife.
Tighten the screws so that the bulkhead is firmly attached to the hull and epoxy. Clean off any epoxy that may be displaced as the bulkhead is brought near the hull.
