Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place two 48-inch long plywood boards on the ground. Apply wood glue across one side of each board.
Spread the glue evenly across the board's surface with a paintbrush. Press the two boards together, aligning the edges as closely as possible.
Place a brick on either side of the plywood's ends. Set the plywood on top of the bricks, creating a bridge structure. Set a box of books, or other heavy item, on top of the plywood's center point. This action will cause the plywood to bend in the middle.
Attach 16 hand clamps around the edges of the plywood, ensuring that the boards are in constant contact with one another. Allow to rest for 24 hours.
Create a longboard skateboard end piece template with computer illustrator software. Cut out the shape, typically in the shape of the letter "C," and place it on the plywood's end. Trace the shape onto the plywood with a pencil. Repeat on the plywood's other end.
Cut the shape into the plywood using a bandsaw. Sand the ends with sandpaper or a power sander.
Attach wheels and trucks, or attachment shafts, to the plywood's underside. Make sure that the plywood's top surface is bending upward.
Cut openings above each individual wheel for clearance using the bandsaw.
Paint the underside and seal it with polyurethane finish. Place grip tape across the longboard's top surface for helping retain the rider during use.
