How to Remove Ski Loops on Ski-Doo Revs

A Ski-Doo Rev snowmobile can take you deep into the wilderness to locations that would be almost impossible to reach on foot. The wide track for power and the two front skis for steering provide a surprising amount of traction. If you manage to bury the sled in the snow, there's a handle on the rear and two handles on the front of the machine to assist in pulling it out. The ski loops act as the front handles and are riveted onto the plastic skis. Removing them requires drilling out the rivets.

Instructions

    • 1

Position the center punch in the middle of the rivet head that is holding on the ski loop. Push down on the center punch until it leaves an indentation on the rivet head.

    • 2

Drill a hole in the indentation left by the center punch with a 1/16 drill bit.

    • 3

Drill a hole in the pre-drilled hole with a 1/4 drill bit. The head of the rivet should fall off. If it doesn't, increase the size of your drill bit and drill a wider hole in the 1/4-inch hole.

    • 4

Hammer out the center of the rivet with a hole punch. Repeat this entire process to remove the other rivet holding the other ski loop.
