How to Make Origami Presents

Place the construction paper square on a table. Fold down the upper left corner to the bottom right corner and smooth the crease with a fingernail. Unfold the paper. Fold down the upper right corner to the bottom right corner and smooth the crease with a fingernail. Unfold the paper.

Fold the upper right corner into the center. Smooth down the crease. Fold the upper left corner into the center, followed by the lower left and right corners. Smooth down the creases. Unfold the paper.

Fold the bottom left corner up to the crease at the upper right corner. Smooth down the crease and unfold the paper. Fold the bottom right corner up to the crease at the upper left corner and smooth down the crease. Unfold the paper. Fold down the upper left corner to the crease at the lower right corner. Smooth down the crease and unfold the paper. Fold down the upper right corner to the crease at the lower left corner. Smooth down the crease and unfold the paper.

Fold down the upper left corner to the first crease mark. Smooth down the crease and unfold the paper. Repeat this procedure with the upper right corner. Fold the bottom left corner up to the first crease mark. Smooth down the crease and unfold the paper. Repeat this procedure with the bottom right corner.

Fold the corners into the center. Fold down the top end into the first crease. Fold up the bottom end into the first crease. Turn over the paper.

Hold the first square at the bottom left of the paper between your thumb and forefinger. Press in on the thumb to make a diagonal crease. Hold the first square at the bottom right of the paper between your thumb and forefinger. Press in on the thumb to make a diagonal crease. Hold the first square at the top left of the paper in the same manner as before. Press in on the thumb to make a diagonal crease. Repeat this procedure with the first square at the top right of the paper.

Fold the flap at the left side of the paper into the box and smooth the crease at the top edge with your fingernail. Repeat this procedure with the flap at the right side of the paper to finish your origami present.

Place double-sided tape on one side of the tissue paper. Insert the tissue paper inside the box. Press the tissue paper against the bottom of the box to cause the tape to stick. Place a party favor inside the gift box you have made. Cover the present with tissue paper.
