How to Build Your Own DJ Turntable Stand

Keeping the party going is the all-important task of the disc jockey, or DJ. To do so, the DJ needs a stable table to place his turntables and other equipment. Putting a table together does not require expensive materials and can be done quickly to accommodate any party situation. The homemade DJ stand will make setting up for a gig easier to complete.

Things You'll Need

  • Six cement blocks

Instructions

    • 1

Place the cement blocks on top of each other. Ensure the blocks are sturdy and do not sway in any direction. Place three on each side to make the foundation for the DJ turntable stand.

    • 2

Place the door across the top of the towers. Ensure the door lies flat across the top of the cement blocks. Place the door with the knob facing downward or remove the knob from the door. Use a door without grooves to create a flat tabletop.

    • 3

Drape the black sheet across the top of the DJ table. The sheet should cover the front of the stand so that people standing in front of the DJ cannot see under the table. Use additional cloths of different colors, if desired.

    • 4

Place all of the DJ equipment on top of the DJ stand to ensure that the table can hold the equipment. Ensure that the table does not sway or rock. Arrange the items and install the electrical devices to play music for the party.
