How to Disable a Browning BT-99 Ejector

The Browning BT-99 is a sport shotgun that is used primarily for trap shooting. One feature on this firearm that is unique for a shotgun is that it automatically discharges the shell casing after the gun is fired. This allows for quick reloading, but if you find that discharged shells are getting in your way, you can disable the ejector mechanism on the shotgun. This can be done right from the top of the gun, so no disassembly of the firearm is required.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the metal bolt at the side of the barrel back and check the chamber to make sure no shells are in the gun. If there are, remove them.

    • 2

Notice the metal lever at the top of the gun near the base of the barrel.

    • 3

Push the lever to the side. This motion locks the barrel and prevents it from automatically ejecting shells.

    • 4

Open the barrel each time you fire and manually remove the shells.
