Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place a piece of foam on a flat surface and lay any hand in the center of it with all the fingers closed together. Measure three inches out on all sides using a tape measure and mark with a black marker. Cut along the black marks with scissors, discarding the unused foam pieces.
Place a drinking glass at any corner of the foam without allowing the glass to hang over any of the edges. Trace around the top part of the glass with a black marker. Cut along the black marker, creating a rounded edge on the foam. Repeat this process for the remaining three corners.
Place the uncut piece of foam on a flat surface and lay the cut piece of foam directly on top, using it as a pattern. Trace around the cut piece of foam with a black marker. Cut along the black lines, creating a second piece of shaped foam and discard the unused pieces.
Place once square piece of 12" x 12" vinyl fabric on a flat surface with the finished side up. Lay one piece of shaped foam in the center of the vinyl and cover with a second piece of 12" x 12" vinyl with the raw side facing down.
Measure out one inch from the foam on three sides and secure the vinyl pieces together with straight pins. Repeat this step with the remaining two pieces of 12" x 12" vinyl and the shaped piece of foam. Gently slide both foam pieces out of the vinyl to remove them, without removing the straight pins.
Sew along the three sides of the vinyl with a double stitch on the sewing machine. Remove the straight pins as you stitch and repeat the same process with the remaining set of vinyl squares. Flip each set of vinyl squares right side out and smooth out flat. Measure out one inch from the foam on each set of vinyl pieces, securing together with straight pins.
Stitch together each set of vinyl pieces with needle and thread, making sure they are tightly held together. Lay each punching pad on a flat surface and place one 6" x 2" piece of vinyl in the center of each pad finished side facing up and secure with straight pins. Hand stitch two handles on each punching pad with needle and thread to secure the four ends of the vinyl strips, creating two handles on each punching pad.
