How to Fix Stacked Leverage

Stacked leverage is a bowling term that describes the type of holes drilled into a bowling ball. With a stacked leverage ball, the core of the ball, pin and heaviest part of the ball is close to the surface. The core weight versus holes drilled helps to determine the way in which the ball will roll down the lane. Stacked leverage balls are ideal for more experienced bowlers as they allow bowlers to use more technical bowling skills such as the hook.

Evaluate the standards compared with what your bowling ball comes with. If the weight versus the hole depth with your ball is off, then you have trouble getting the ball to roll a certain way that you want. Also check that your ball has a balance hole. According to the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) standards, the balance hole is necessary to the weight and balance of the ball. Purchase a ball that is labeled with a USBC rating so that you know it is made up to professional standards.

Use inserts or finger grips. Drilled finger holes can be slippery and cause the bowler to release the ball too soon which affects play. Also check to make sure that the finger holes adequately fit your fingers. If they are too big or too small, this will also affect your delivery.
