DIY: Hockey Goal

If you're looking to play some street hockey, there's no need to splurge on a professional hockey goal. By buying a few supplies and spending a few minutes, you can build your own hockey goal and save a considerable amount of money. Your homemade goal might not stand up to the rigors of a tournament game, but it should be good enough for a few friendly street hockey games or games using lighter pucks.

Things You'll Need

  • Two 10-foot pieces of PVC tubing measuring 1.5 inches
  • Six elbow connectors that fit the tubing
  • One piece of hockey netting
  • Fine tooth saw
  • Glue

Instructions

    • 1

Cut one of the two PVC pipes into two 1-inch pieces. You should have one extra piece of 18-inch pipe left over. Cut the other pipe into two 40-inch pieces and two 20-inch pieces. Keep all the pieces together and within easy reach.

    • 2

Connect the two 40-inch pipes to the 20-inch pieces using the elbow connectors.

    • 3

Weave the edges of the hockey net over the 40-inch pieces of pipe and over the bottom of your goal.

    • 4

Attach the 51-inch piece of piping to the top edge of the of the vertical pipes using elbow connectors.

    • 5

Connect the remaining 18-inch pieces to the top of the goal posts to form a crossbar that will stabilize your goal. Loop the net over the top part of the goal posts.

    • 6

Squeeze glue into all of the joints and let the glue set before playing a game of hockey.
