How to Build a Homemade Domino Stacker

Dominoes are fun to watch as they tumble and fall, but the action happens so fast that it̵7;s difficult to see each and every domino fall. You can build a domino stacking arrangement that moves in slow motion instead of normal speed. You can purchase the building supplies from a hardware store and the dominoes from a hobby shop or a toy store.

Things You'll Need

  • Duct tape roll (4 inches wide)
  • Tape measure
  • Dominoes

Instructions

    • 1

Tear off a 4-foot strip of duct tape from the roll. Hold the duct tape strip vertically with the glued side facing away from you. Roll the top end toward you a total of three times. Upend the tape and repeat this procedure with the end that is now on top.

    • 2

Place the tape horizontally on a table, sticky side up. Press down on both tubes for two seconds.

    • 3

Hold a domino vertically with a side facing you. Place the bottom of the domino on the tape, just to the right of the tube that is to your left. Press the domino down and release it.

    • 4

Place another domino, held in the same way as the first, on the tape to the right of the one that has been placed down, only a 1/2 inch or so away. Repeat this procedure with additional dominoes until you reach the tube at the other side of the tape. Place a domino, in the same manner as those that came before it, on the surface of the table to the right of the tube.

    • 5

Place a domino, in the same manner as those that came before it, on the surface of the table to the left of the tube on the tape. Flick the back of this domino to the right with your finger. Watch as each domino that is on the tape falls in slow motion. Continue watching to see the last domino on the right fall at normal speed.
