How to Replace Knobs on a Projector Screen

A projector can be an ideal way to watch old movies or share a presentation in a classroom. If your projector screen is getting old you may notice some of the knobs getting broken or worn out. Replacing the projector knob is easy so long as you are able to get the appropriate replacement knob. Consulting with staff at an electronics shop or contacting the manufacturer directly are easy ways to get replacement knobs for any projector.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the broken knob gently to the right, loosening the screw attaching the knob to the projector. Fully remove the knob.

    • 2

Take the knob to an electronic store. Some electronics stores will sell spare parts or can order the appropriate parts from the manufacturer.

    • 3

Contact the manufacturer directly if your local electronics store can't help get you a replacement part. You can contact the manufacturer by consulting your projector manual or going online to the manufacturer's website.

    • 4

Order a spare knob and have it delivered to your home.

    • 5

Hold the new knob over the screw where the old knob was removed. Twist the knob gently to the left until it begins to screw on to the projector. Keep screwing until the knob is securely in place.
