Movie
Go to a movie. Most movie theaters offer their widest selection of shows at night. Whether you invite your friends for group fun or fly solo to the latest flick, going to a movie is a time-tested way to conquer your boredom at night. You can even buy movie tickets as a gift for a loved one or a friend if you want to do something nice for somebody. (See References 1)
Sports
Go to a wrestling match or a volleyball game. Minor league sporting events are significantly cheaper than professional events if you have a tight budget. If you don't want to watch someone else play, organize your friends for a backyard softball game or pickup basketball game.
Roller Rink
If you can't seem to get rid of your boredom, grab your pair of roller skates and head to the roller skating rink. Make sure you brush up on the hokey-pokey dance because you will likely have to show off your dancing skills at the rink.
Cooking
Cook a new recipe that you have always wanted to try. Go to the store to get the proper ingredients. If you're really ambitious, invite your friends to participate in a dinner party or cooking contest.
Books
Read a book. Whether you're a history buff or a fiction lush, sitting next to the fire with a compelling read can be an invigorating and constructive way to combat your boredom at night. If books aren't your thing, read the newspaper to see what's going on in the world or read your favorite magazine.
Camping
Go camping. If you're bored at night and feeling brave, pitch a tent, start a fire, and gather your friends for a night of marshmallow roasting and storytelling. The crisp, cool air and flaming fire will help distract you from your boredom.
Exercise
Exercise if you get bored at night. It will help you sleep better and eliminate some of the stress associated with boredom. Whether you go for a late night jog, swim in your local pond or lift some weights, you can fight your boredom by focusing on improving your physical health.
