How to Interlink Rubber Bands

You probably at some time have sat down at a desk, perhaps in front of your computer, and have begun stretching or pulling a rubber band or winding one around your fingers, often without even realizing it. Often the rubber band snapped and jarred you out of your trance. The next time you have a few moments to spare, try making a rubber band chain by interlinking a few bands. The diversion can be a bit soporific but it's a fun way to while away some time.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a few rubber bands on a table in front of you in a line, but not touching each other. Don̵7;t crowd the table; you can always add more later.

    • 2

Start left to right. Squeeze the end of the first rubber band with your fingers. Insert the end through the hoop in the second rubber band.

    • 3

Rotate the rubber band in your fingers so that it goes under the second band and back on itself, but not so that the other end of the first band goes through and out of the second band (see Reference #1 for guidance). Slide the end of the rubber band you̵7;re holding in your fingers through the hoop on the other end of the band you're holding

    • 4

Grab the second band with your fingers while keeping hold of the first band. The two bands tighten and are now linked together.
