How to Make a Bubble Jet

A bubble jet is a type of water accessory that uses bubbles to aerate water. Making bubbles aerate through the water requires the displacement of air. This requires using an air pump to produce the bubbles. Bubbles may be used for visual stimulation or to circulate water inside of an aquarium.

Things You'll Need

Suction cup
Aquarium
Aquarium air stone
Clear rubber tubing
Air pump

Instructions

  Secure a suction cup to the side or bottom of the aquarium air stone. Position the aquarium air stone at the bottom near the center of the aquarium and press down to secure the suction cup.

  Insert one end of the clear rubber tubing to the inlet that is on the aquarium air stone. Run the tubing to the location of the air pump. Insert the other end of the clear tubing to the outlet on the air pump.

  Plug the power cord for the air pump into an electrical outlet.

  Fill the aquarium with water and then turn on the air pump. Allow 10 minutes for the air pump to reach its maximum capacity. You will begin to see bubbles flow up through the water.
