Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the body of the RC vehicle and set it aside. Remove the wheels, exhaust pipe, fuel tank, receiver plate and bumpers from the vehicle. Remove all remaining parts from the receiver plate.
Attach the cage mount brackets to the front and rear gearboxes. Use the existing shock tower screws and upper arm plate screws to secure the cage mount brackets.
Remove the left side mud guard. Locate the middle screw and grind down the boss bump with a Dremel tool. Reattach the mud guard without reinserting the middle screw.
Hold the left and right rails parallel to each other and slide the back hoop onto the notches at the rear of the left and right rails. Slide the front hoop onto the notches closest to the front of the rails. Secure the front hoop with two body clips.
Place five center spacers, two side spacers, and a lock nut through the original mud guard middle hole. Mark the location of the forward hole with a paint marker. Drill a 1/8-inch hole through the chassis plate with a power drill or Dremel tool.
Reattach the cage mount to the chassis with two button head cap screws and lock nuts. Tighten the screws with an Allen wrench. Attach the roll cage to the chassis, using body clips on the right side and socket head cap screws with lock nuts on the left side.
Remove the right side mud guard and reinstall the throttle servo and radio gear. Reattach the fuel tank and exhaust pipe to the chassis, then attach the rear skid plate.
Fit the body over the RC roll cage. Cut a 1 3/4-inch wide rectangular hole in the back of the body, extending from the back edge of the roof to the rear wing. Create other openings for the cylinder head and fuel tank as needed.
