DIY Smoke Evaporator

A smoke evaporator is more commonly known as a vaporizer. They are used by individuals who wish to smoke, but do not like the rough, hot taste of smoke. The smoke evaporator works by heating up the tobacco rather than burning it. No direct flame touches the tobacco, which results in a much cleaner and less harsh smoke. A smoke evaporator can be as simple as a freebase pipe or a sophisticated electronic heating system. A smoke evaporator can cost less than $20 to make (as of 2011).

Instructions

    • 1

Cut up 1/2 to 1 g of smoking tobacco, so that it is not in a clump.

    • 2

Place the cut tobacco into the Erlenmeyer flask. Spread the tobacco evenly throughout the flask.

    • 3

Place the Erlenmeyer flask on a small hot plate.

    • 4

Place a rubber stop with plastic exit tube in the opening of the Erlenmeyer flask.

    • 5

Cut a small hole in the exit tube. The hole should be around 1/3 inch in diameter. This serves as a choke for the smoke evaporator.

    • 6

Turn on the hotplate. Cover the choke and top of the exit tube with your fingers. Wait for smoke to rise from the tobacco. Once it is smoking, put your mouth to the exit tube and inhale. As the smoke from the Erlenmeyer flask diminishes, release the choke to provide fresh air through to the tube to suck out the last bits of smoke. Cover the choke and top of the exit tube. Wait until more smoke has filled the flash before taking another puff.
