How to Wire an E730U

The E730U Ultrasonic Wind Gauge, developed by Gill Athletics, allows users to record the wind velocity and direction at any given time, which proves useful when playing outdoor sports, such as baseball, football and various track and field events. If you wish to use the E730U, you must wire the device properly by inserting the batteries and connecting the necessary devices.

  • 4 AA batteries
  • Serial cable

Instructions

      Open the battery door on the back of your wind gauge to expose the battery ports. Insert the 4 AA batteries into the battery ports.

      Replace the wind gauge's battery door. Place the wind gauge outside on an even platform.

      Connect one end of your serial cable to the input/output port on the lower left side of the wind gauge. Connect the other end of the cable to your personal computer.

    • 4

      Remove the protective caps from the wind gauge's sensors and turn the on/off switch to the "on" position to begin using the device.
