How to Make a Rosette Iron

A rosette is a design of concentric circles used to decorate trim or molding on the walls of your home. You can also craft a rosette into a branding iron that can burn the rosette design onto a piece of wood. To do so, you must first envision a design for the rosette and then craft it from a piece of metal wire.

Things You'll Need

Metal wire
Pliers
Extra metal pieces (option)
Soldering iron
Solder
Metal file

Instructions

  Draw the design for the rosette for your branding iron on a piece of paper. Make multiple designs if you have more than one design in mind.

  Cut small pieces of metal wire, and bend them into a curved shape by hand or with pliers. Position a cut piece of wire on the design. Repeat this step until you have the design laid out on the paper.

  Make a handle by crafting it from an outside piece of metal, if necessary.

  Secure the pieces of metal together in the shape of the rosette using a soldering iron. Solder the end of each piece of the metal wire. Smooth out sharp edges of solder by using a metal file.
