Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut using a circular saw two identically sized circles 10 inches in diameter from a 1-inch thick section of lumber.
Measure with a ruler or tape measure a smaller, 1/2-inch circle at the exact center of each circle you cut out and remove this circle.
Fit each wooden circle over the respective ends of a 1/2-inch thick wooden dowel about 12 inches in length. Let the dowel protrude about 1/2 inch on each side. This allows you to attach the legs and base on which the tumbler will stand upright.
Wrap the section of wire mesh around the tumbler, attaching the ends of the section of mesh to the wooden circles using a staple gun, so that the inner part of the tumbler is fully encased by the mesh. Use any size mesh as long as the holes are smaller than the tickets you will use for the raffle.
Use the 6 inch-by-1 inch-by-12-inch section of lumber or plywood as the base, on which the legs and tumbler will stand.
Cut a notch using the saw on each end of the 8-inch legs large enough for the ends of the dowel to rest comfortably. The dowel will sit and be able to spin in the notch.
Nail the legs to the different ends of the wooden base so the legs are positioned upright with the notch at the top. Use 9-gauge nails, which are about 3 inches in length, and nail them into the wood with a hammer.
Place the tumbler unit on the legs, sliding the dowel in place with the notches.
