How to Make a 3D Projector

An anaglyph image overlaps red and cyan lines that become a 3D image when viewed through similarly colored glasses. You can make a 3D projector that will project a 3D anaglyph image onto a wall. A laptop will be needed as will items available at office supplies stores. Household tools will be necessary.

      Download to your laptop an anaglyph 3D image from one of the websites that provides these images for personal use at no cost, for example, the 3D Wallpapers Download website.

      Click "Start." Select "Windows Photo Viewer" which is include with the Windows operating system by clicking on its name in the "All Applications" pop up window.

      Click the 'File" tab at the top of the program's window, followed by "Open File." Navigate to the 3D image that you downloaded to the desktop inside the window that appears. Click once on the file. Click the "Open" button at the bottom of the window.

      Place the overhead projector on a table that faces a blank wall. Place the back of the laptop's screen on the glass top of the overhead projector. Dim the lights in the room.

      Move the table toward or away from the wall until the image being projected by the laptop's LCD screen is the size that you want it to be.

      Adjust the knob on the side of the pole connected to the overhead projector. Raise or lower the lens module which rides the pole until the image on the wall is at the height you want it to be. Tighten the knob.

      Rotate the focus knob on the side of the lens module until the image is sharp. Put on a pair of anaglyph (red/cyan) 3D glasses to view the 3D image that your homemade 3D projector is now displaying.
