Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the laces from each tennis shoe. Take out the insole from each shoe, if it is removable.
Set the open end of each shoe onto a shoe stand. Place a mounting plate onto the sole of a shoe. Align the mounting plate with the center of the sole.
Mark the location of the mounting holes with a pencil and a felt-tip marker. Drill a hole into the bottom of each shoe on each mark with the power drill. You can also use a drill press if one is available.
Place a washer over the bolts. Insert the bolts into each hole from inside the shoe. The bolt threads need to be exposed on the sole of each shoe.
Align the mounting holes of a mounting plate over the bolts on each shoe and press down. Strike the mounting plate with a rubber mallet to force it onto the bolts, if necessary.
Tighten a nut onto each of the bolts by hand. Secure the nuts to each bolt using a socket wrench, or the power drill. Trim the excess length of the bolts with the breaker bar.
File the sharp ends of the bolts with a metal file. You can also flatten the cut-off ends with a hammer.
Attach the trucks for the wheels to the mounting plate. Turn the king-pin nut to the right by hand. Secure the nut tightly with the wrench and socket wrench. You could also use a wrench and the power drill.
Insert the wheels onto the axle for each truck. Place a nut onto the end of the axle and tighten using the adjustable wrench or the power drill.
Insert a bolt into the toe stop. Secure the bolt for the toe stop to the front of the mounting plate.
