How to Make Sonic in an Origami Form

Sonic the Hedgehog is a beloved video game character whose strongest attribute is the ability to run fast. To make a representation of Sonic's head, fold a sheet of paper in an appropriate manner. The procedure takes the art of paper folding, called "origami" by the Japanese, into account. The origami paper can be purchased from a hobby store.

Origami paper square
Black Magic Marker

Instructions

  Place the origami paper square on a work surface. Fold the bottom up to the middle and smooth the crease down. Fold the bottom left corner up to the center and smooth the crease down. Repeat this procedure, only with the bottom right corner.

  Fold the bottom of the paper up to the center and smooth the crease down to form the mouth. Fold the left side of the paper over to the right. Fold the right side of the paper over to the left. Smooth the creases down.

  Fold the upper left corner toward the center to form a rectangle that will be an ear. Smooth the crease down. Fold the upper right corner toward the center to form a rectangle that will be the other ear. Smooth the crease down.

  Fold the top over to the center and smooth the crease down. Pull the two flaps out of the sides of the paper. Fold the two "ears" up and toward the top of the paper.

  Draw a blackened oval to the right of the left "ear" with a Magic Marker to make the left eye. Draw a blackened oval to the left of the right "ear" with the marker to make the right eye. Draw a vertical line between between the two eyes and below the fold at the center of the paper to form the nose. Draw a horizontal line to the right and below the nose to form the mouth.
