Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut a 4-inch piece of floral ribbon. Make a circle out of the ribbon. The right side of the ribbon should be on the outside of the circle and the two ends of the ribbon should overlap by half an inch. Hold the overlap at the bottom center of the ribbon loop.
Press down on the center top of the ribbon loop with your thumb and first finger to flatten it.
Cut a length of thread. Pass one end of the thread through the eye of the needle and tie a double knot in the opposite end of the thread.
Insert your threaded needle up through the center bottom of the flattened ribbon loop. Push it through both of the overlapping ends and the top surface of the flattened ribbon loop. Pull the length of thread through these three layers of ribbon.
Press the width of the ribbon loop into the bow center with your thumb and first finger. Make sure you squeeze the center of the ribbon loop.
Place the length of thread over the top of the bow center. Wrap it tightly around the bow center a number of times to secure the bow shape. Secure this thread in place by sewing a couple of overlapping stitches in the back of the ribbon bow.
Cut a 1-inch piece of floral ribbon. Wrap this piece of ribbon over the bow center. The right side of the ribbon should face out. Overlap the ends of this piece of ribbon on the back side of the bow. Trim off any excess ribbon. Glue the ends in place on the back of the ribbon bow. Hold it in place for one to two minutes or until the glue cools.
Place a small amount of glue in the desired location on the front of the blank hair slide. Press the back of the floral bow onto the front of the slide. Make sure that the slide is open and you do not glue the two parts of the slide together. Hold the bow in place until the glue cools.
Allow the floral hair bow to dry and set for 24 hours before use. Repeat this process to make as many floral hair bows as desired.
