Store your cigars in a sealable plastic sandwich bag. This method is most suitable for a few cigars. Add a couple of drops of water to a 2-inch square piece of paper towel and place it in the bag with the cigars to keep them from drying out. Position the paper towel so that it is not touching the cigars. Store them in a dark area with the temperature below 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This method is effective for up to two weeks.
Put the cigars inside of a cedar box and place the cedar box inside of a plastic food container with a tight lid. Keep a moistened sponge beside the cedar box, in a spot where it will not be in contact with the cigars. Open the lid every other day to release excess moisture.
Store your cigars in a large ice cooler without ice. This method works very well for larger amounts of cigars, and for long-term storage. Put some wet floral foam in a small plastic container; cut the foam to fit the container if you need to. Place your cigars inside so that they don't touch the wet foam. Open the lid once a week to prevent mold growth, and release gases that generate from aging cigars.
