Instructions
Measure one of the 2-by-4 boards with the tape measure and then make marks every eight inches with a pencil. Repeat this step with the other 2-by-4 board.
Drill a 1/2-inch diameter hole 1/2 an inch deep at each mark on the 2-by-4 boards with the power drill.
Apply wood glue into each hole on one of the 2-by-4 boards. Insert one end of a 1/2-inch wood dowel into each hole. Allow four to six hours for the wood glue to dry.
Insert the 1/2-inch plastic piping over the wood dowels. Apply wood glue into each hole on the second 2-by-4 board. Insert the end of the dowels into the holes and allow the wood glue to dry. You now have the top of the roller that looks like a ladder.
Measure and cut a 2-by-4 to 22 inches. Set the cut 2-by-4 at the middle of the roller top. Drill two pilot holes into the wood with the power drill.
Insert screws into the holes and tighten with the power drill. Place the wheel assembly onto the 2-by-4 and attach with screws. Lift up the canoe roller and set it on its wheels.
