How to Disassemble a Bushnell Holosight

The Bushnell Holosight is an after-market rifle scope that produces a laser reticle pattern in the eyepiece to help the shooter accurately hit the target. You might want to take apart the Bushnell Holosight if you are changing the scope of your gun or if you need to store the product for a prolonged period of time. The scope does not have many removable parts, making disassembly a simple process. Allow 10 minutes for this task.

Things You'll Need

  • 7/64" hex wrench or
  • 1/8" hex wrench (both included)

Instructions

    • 1

Loosen the bolts holding the sight to the top of the gun using the correct hex wrench. Do not remove the bolts -- stop when the sight is able to be lifted off the rail.

    • 2

Take the sight off the gun and set it to one side. Locate the battery cover on the end of the scope nearest the elevation adjustment buttons.

    • 3

Rotate the screw holding down the battery cover counter-clockwise until the cover comes loose and detaches from the scope. Tip the two AAA batteries into your hand.

    • 4

Replace the battery cover, store the batteries and wrap up the scope in its original packaging, if possible. The scope is now ready for storage or shipping.
