How to Refine Micron Gold Chemicals

The refining of micron gold chemicals or concentrates is done using a process called smelting. Smelting is a process in which a furnace is heated up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit to melt the gold. However, to perform this task you need to first prepare all of the materials. This includes obtaining the chemicals or concentrates that contain the micron gold that is to be refined.

Things You'll Need

    • 2

Put on the work gloves and then place the crucible in the natural gas furnace.

    • 3

Turn on the natural gas furnace and allow it to heat to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Leave the crucible in the furnace for at least 30 minutes.

    • 4

Remove the crucible from the furnace with the metal tongs. Pour the melted gold from the crucible into a cast iron mold and allow it to cool.
