Things You'll Need
Instructions
Measure the length and width of the foot that will be wearing the clog. The exact measurements are not necessary since you will be adding an extra inch to all sides to prevent the foam from being cut too short.
Place the inside sole of an extra pair of shoes onto the sheet of fun foam. Trace around the shape of the sole with a felt tip marker. The tracing lines don't have to be exact. Measure 1 inch out from the original traced lines using a tape measure and place dots with the marker in random areas. The will show where the cuts need to be.
Cut out the shape of the sole using the dots as indicator marks. The fun foam is soft and pliable making it easy to cut into even for small children using safety scissors.
Draw a triangle on a new piece of fun foam using the measurements taken for the width of the foot. Add an additional 1 inch to the measurements to allow for folding. Draw the correct measured lines onto the fun foam using a tape measure and felt tip marker.
Fold two corners of the triangle under so that the points look as though they are going to touch each other. Glue each of the folded corners down onto the foam sole. Hold firmly until completely dry. Fold under the front corner of the triangle 1 inch and glue it securely to the foam sole.
Push together the front portion of the clog and secure in place with straight pins. Sew the front of the clog together with needle and thread. Sewing the foam instead of gluing will help to create a flatter top with less bumps.
Attach different shapes and sizes of pre-cut foam pieces to help cover the seam on the top of the clogs. These pieces can be added with the use of the glue gun or needle and thread, whichever helps them to lay flat against the foam.
