How to Make a Picture Portfolio for a Pageant

Review the rules for the pageant. Some contests require that the contestants submit specific types of photos to the judges. Clarify exactly what types of images are needed before taking any steps to have a photography shot completed. You do not want to make the mistake of submitting the wrong type of pictures.

Consult a professional photographer to have pictures taken of the contestant. Many photography studios offer services to take professional quality images for many different purposes. Discuss the type of shots needed and arrange a time in which the studio will complete the photo shoot.

Select an empty photo album to display the images. Most department stores have professional photo portfolios available for purchase. Purchase clear protective sheets to use for holding the images inside of the portfolio.

Select the best images available from the photo session. Ensure that the images selected meet the requirements within the pageant rules. Save the extra images for later pageant or personal use if needed.

Place the images into the protective sheets and insert into the photo portfolio. Arrange the images in order as required by the ruling if they state a requirement of a specific sequence.

Review the images and submit to judging per the rules of the pageant.
