Things You'll Need
Instructions
Open the battery compartment by removing the fastener screws, then loosen the battery terminals to disconnect the positive and negative wires. Pull the old battery cell out of the compartment.
Install the four 4V batteries in the compartment with the terminals alternating between positive and negative; for example, if you place the first battery with the positive (red) terminal toward the front of the compartment, place the second cell with the negative (black) terminal facing the front. You are going to form a series circuit, which means you will be connecting positive to negative, so it will be easier if they are in close proximity to each other.
Cut 5 sections of wire measuring 6-inches each, then use the wire strippers to pull off 1/2-inch of insulation from each end of the wires.
Slide one end of the wire onto the positive terminal of the first battery, then screw down the terminal mount to fasten the wire in position. Place a second wire between the negative terminal of the first battery and the positive terminal of the second, then tighten the terminal mounts. Place a third wire between the negative terminal of the second battery and the positive terminal of the third battery, then tighten the terminal mounts. Place a fourth wire between the negative terminal of the third battery and the positive terminal of the fourth battery, then tighten the terminal mounts.
Connect a fifth wire to the negative terminal of the fourth battery cell, then plug the other end of the wire into the negative input jack of the device. Insert the positive wire (attached to the first battery) in the positive input jack of the device.
Close the battery compartment, then tighten the screws to fasten it closed.
