Things You'll Need
Instructions
Line up six small bulb holders on a table. Put five regular 1.5-volt bulbs into five of the holders and the 1.5-volt blinking light bulb into the sixth. Use your fingers to screw in the lightbulbs, but don't over-tighten them, as you may break the glass.
Cut seven strips of AWG 16 single-core wire using a knife. Cut five strips 6 inches long and two strips 18 inches long.
Remove one-quarter inch of the plastic coating off the end of the seven strips of wire using wire strippers. You get to see the inner cooper wire that connects between the light series and the battery.
Loosen all the terminal screws on the lightbulb holders using a suitably sized screwdriver. Don't remove the screws.
Insert the end of one of the 18-inch wire strips under the one of the terminal screws on the first lightbulb holder. Tighten the screw using the screwdriver.
Insert the end of one of the 6-inch wire strips under the other terminal screw on the first holder and tighten the screw. Attach the opposite end of the wire to the second holder using the same method.
Repeat the procedure by attaching the remaining short wire strips to the rest of the holders using the same method. The end of the last wire strip attaches to the one of the terminals on the last holder.
Attach one end of the second 18-inch wire strip to the remaining terminal on the last holder. Attach the opposite end of the first 18-inch strip to one of the two battery terminals; it doesn't matter which one. Use a strip of electrical tape to hold the wire onto the battery terminal.
Attach the opposite of the second long strip of wire to the other battery terminal using tape. As soon as the wire touches the battery terminal, the light series illuminates and starts to blink. Simply remove one of the wires from a battery terminal when you want to turn off the lights.
