Things You'll Need
Instructions
Connect a standard shop vise to a table or workbench according to the instructional manual for the vise.
Open the jaws of the vise as far as possible and use Liquid Nails brand glue to attach the first board horizontally against one side of the vise jaw. Repeat this process with the other side of the vise jaw, using the second long board.
Use the vise's closing mechanism to close the jaws as tight as possible so that the glue can set. Let it set for at least one hour.
Glue scrap pieces of carpet to the wood pieces to further protect your weapon.
Manipulate the wood pieces to make sure that they remain secure before putting your unloaded pistol into the vise.
Load your pistol into the vise and tighten the closing mechanism as far as possible to hold the gun in place.
